And boy what a difference. Car is FAST out of turns like it should have been, it just yanks. There is so much front axle grip it’s insane. I can’t believe they didn’t make the car like this from the factory. I did the whole install in my driveway by myself...the tranny had to be separated 3 times to Measure for preload which was a pain but in the end I’m super proud.

Having pulled a transmission a few times already on a 4 post lift and all it makes me think you’re insane for doing it on the ground in your driveway. Atleast the bolts were new and not all rusted in tho! ;)

Nice work! Have you done something similar before or was there a detailed service manual to follow? I’m not nearly confident enough to be able to attempt something like this haha.

I know crazy right? My friend has a shop but I didn't want to move in for the weekend, nor his boss(his mom). It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the SVT focus I just did the clutch on had bolt heads facing towards the engine so there where tons of things in the way always, once I got things clear on the ST the bolts were all very easy to access and the same all 13 mm. I was able to get a at them very easily. Like you said no rust so that was good and I antiseized most bolts when I put them back in...

I’ve done this maybe 7 years ago in in my SVT focus helping someone else, but there was a good write up I read and checked for some specs. I did about everything without it just the shimming and preloading of the diff bearings I slowed down with and re read twice. I thought I had help coming both days but had to push through when they didn't show up!

“I can’t believe they didn’t make the car like this from the factory.”
I can’t as well really. It’s weird a lot of effort was put into this car and it doesn’t have something that a Civic SI has.
Still it’s better than the SI, lol.
20 hours though. Here in Las Vegas where it’s hot as fuck usually it’s ridiculous to even consider lol.
